Tim Schoen

Chief Executive Officer

Tim Schoen has served as BioMed’s CEO since 2016. Under Mr. Schoen’s leadership, BioMed Realty has grown its portfolio, including development to 17 million square feet across six core markets, while providing its tenants with mission-critical infrastructure that expands their innovation capacity to advance human health. In addition to expanding the business, Mr. Schoen has earned numerous awards including Dealmaker of the Year award in 2020, and was selected as a Leader of Influence list in 2023.

Mr. Schoen currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees for the Salk Institute in San Diego and is the chair of Salk’s Conquering Cancer Initiative Advisory Committee and the Finance Chair. He also serves on the Board of Directors for CoreGiving, a nonprofit that seeks to fight childhood hunger and food insecurity. The organization has provided more than 66 million meals since its inception and mobilized over 3,000 volunteers in excess of 80 cities across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia on CoreGiving Day 2024.

Prior to joining BioMed Realty, Mr. Schoen was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Healthpeak, an S&P 500 real estate company, from 2011 to 2016. Mr. Schoen served as Vice President of Corporate Finance at Kilroy Realty Corporation for nine years before his time at Healthpeak. Mr. Schoen received a BS in finance and international business from Minnesota State University and earned his MBA from the University of California, Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, where he was a Dean’s Scholar.

Jonathan Bergschneider

President - West Coast Markets

Jonathan M. Bergschneider has been the President of West Coast Markets since January 2021, where he leads development, leasing and operations. He has guided the company’s growth in the San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Boulder markets.

Before joining BioMed Realty, Bergschneider was the Senior Managing Director of Life Sciences at HCP, Inc., for 14 years. He also previously oversaw leasing and development at Slough Estates USA, Inc., and worked at Draper and Kramer, Incorporated. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

William Kane

President - East Coast and United Kingdom Markets

William (Bill) Kane has been the President of East Coast and UK Markets since January 2021, following two years as Executive Vice President for those regions. He has led significant expansion of BioMed’s portfolio in these areas.

With two decades of experience, he has led leasing and development across Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Before joining BioMed Realty in 2008, Kane managed R&D, hospital, and office development projects for the Fallon Company, Davis Marcus Partners, Lyme Properties, and Turner Construction.

Mr. Kane holds a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University and both a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science from Boston University.

Ankit Patel

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Ankit Patel became Chief Financial Officer in November 2022. He has more than 13 years of experience in healthcare and life science real estate, primarily from his time at Ventas, a healthcare REIT and S&P 500 company.

At Ventas, he was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance & Capital Markets, where he led corporate finance, strategic planning, and capital markets. His earlier experience includes investor relations, acquisitions, investment banking at UBS, and management consulting at IBM. Patel holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Marie Lewis

Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Marie Lewis is Executive Vice President and General Counsel, leading the Company’s Legal, Integration, Communications and corporate Marketing functions. Since joining in 2013 as Managing Attorney, she has played a significant role in numerous leasing, development, acquisition, disposition and financing transactions. Before BioMed, Ms. Lewis was Managing Attorney, Real Estate, at Sempra Energy and an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. She graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School and clerked for Judge William J. Rea in the Central District of California. She is also on the board of the Big Brothers Big Sisters San Diego Chapter.

Colleen O'Connor

Executive Vice President, Market Lead, East Coast & UK Market

Colleen O’Connor is Executive Vice President, Market Lead, East Coast and UK. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Leasing for the region. Since joining BioMed in 2014, she has built strong relationships in the real estate and life sciences communities, focusing on delivering high-quality, strategic spaces and services that enable tenants to advance life-saving therapies. She oversees leasing and operations for the East Coast and UK markets and serves on the Boards of Directors for NAIOP and CREW Boston. Before joining BioMed, Ms. O’Connor held finance and accounting roles at Fidelity Investments and PwC.

John Lee

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

John Lee joined BioMed Realty as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in September 2024. He brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in global commercial real estate, he oversees the company’s Investment and Asset management functions. His responsibilities includes sourcing new growth opportunities and enhancing the value of the existing portfolio. Before joining, Mr. Lee was the Global Head of Asset Management for PIMCO’s opportunistic real estate and private debt businesses. He holds a B.A. in Business-Economics from UCLA and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Charlie Piscitello

Chief People Officer

Charlie Piscitello joined as Chief People Officer July 2023, bringing over 30 years of experience in human capital and talent management. He previously served as Chief People Officer at Acutus Medical, where he oversaw a rapid expansion that grew the company employee base by 250%. In this role, he implemented culture, engagement, and performance programs. Prior to that, he served as Chief People officer at Petco for over ten years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Marquette University and is a graduate of the Newfield Network Coaching Program for Personal and Professional Mastery.

Allyn Aguirre

Senior Vice President, Accounting and Treasury

Allyn Aguirre is Senior Vice President, Accounting and Treasury, and oversees the Company’s in-house accounting, tax, treasury and financial reporting functions. She previously served as Vice President, Senior Controller. Ms. Aguirre joined BioMed in 2011 and has contributed to the Company’s acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Prior to BioMed Realty, Ms. Aguirre was an Audit Manager at KPMG LLP, where she served global real estate clients in San Diego and Sydney, Australia.

Bob Nowak

Senior Vice President of Operations for West Coast Markets

Bob Nowak has served as our Senior Vice President of Operations for West Coast Markets since December 2024. Mr. Nowak brings 30 years of commercial real estate operations and asset management experience to BioMed Realty. He most recently served as Managing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). Prior to joining JLL in 2013, Mr. Nowak served as Chief Operating Officer at Means Knaus Partners. Mr. Nowak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Arizona State University and an MBA from University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business.

Carlye Murphy

Senior Vice President, Legal

Carlye Murphy is Senior Vice President of Legal at BioMed Realty, and leads the Company’s East Coast legal team out of the Cambridge, MA office. Carlye originally joined BioMed Realty in 2014 and has 16 years of experience as outside and in-house counsel working on a broad range of complex real estate transactions. Recent transactions include the permitting/development of 585 Third Street into what will be the largest lab building in Kendall Square, acquisition of the 2.3 million square foot University Park portfolio in Cambridge, and BioMed Realty’s $14.6 billion recapitalization by Blackstone. Prior to BioMed Realty, Carlye was an attorney in the real estate department of Ropes & Gray LLP in Boston. Carlye received a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

David Hsiao

Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer

David Hsiao serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer at BioMed Realty. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Chief Information Officer. Mr. Hsiao joined BioMed in 2006 and has held Information Technology management positions of increasing responsibility, overseeing the strategic development of the Company’s data intelligence framework, network infrastructure and cybersecurity programs.

Ryan Anderson

Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer

Ryan Anderson serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at BioMed Realty, where he leads the Company’s investment strategy, portfolio growth, and acquisition activities. He brings extensive experience in life science real estate, having previously held senior roles overseeing major life science real estate transactions at Healthpeak Properties. Anderson is recognized for more than two decades of institutional real estate investment expertise and has played a key role in the expansion of some of the country’s largest life science property portfolios. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Southern California.

Stephen Willey

Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer

Stephen Willey has served as our Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer since February 2015. He previously was our Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer since January 2011. He has been with BioMed Realty since October 2004. Mr. Willey was an audit manager at KPMG and on the audit staff at Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal specializing in real estate companies. Mr. Willey received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Johan Bostrom

Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance & Portfolio Insights

Johan Bostrom is Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance & Portfolio Insights, and oversees the Company’s growing corporate finance, forecasting, portfolio reporting, and market research functions. He first joined the Company in 2010, supporting the Company’s growth in various finance roles. Prior to his time at BioMed, Mr. Bostrom worked in corporate finance for public and private real estate developers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University and an MBA from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

John Moshy

Senior Vice President, Development

John Moshy is Senior Vice President, Development, and as part of his leadership role within the team, he fosters collaboration across multiple markets and development initiatives. Since joining BioMed Realty in 2008, Mr. Moshy has led development projects across multiple teams in both San Diego and Seattle, ensuring tenants’ unique needs are met through the construction of the Company’s world-class lab, office, and amenity spaces. Mr. Moshy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Kevin Tremblay

Senior Vice President, California Markets

Kevin Tremblay is currently Senior Vice President of California markets. Before this, he served as Vice President, San Diego Market Lead. His role oversees the leasing of the 6.5 million square foot portfolio in San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Tremblay joined BioMed in 2013 after an extensive career as a commercial real estate professional in the San Diego market.

Mark Bush

Senior Vice President, Operations, East Coast & UK Markets

Mark Bush has served as our Senior Vice President, Operations, East Coast & UK Markets since September 2024. Mr. Bush joins BioMed Realty with more than 20 years of leadership experience across the areas of investment and asset management in the global commercial real estate sector. Mr. Bush most recently served as Senior Vice President, Asset Management at The Davis Companies, where he provided strategic oversight and direction for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties. Prior to joining The Davis Companies in 2015, Mr. Bush was Vice President, Asset Management, at AEW Capital Management, after holding positions with Brixmor Property Group and Fidelity Investments. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Northeastern University.

Salvatore Zinno

Senior Vice President, Development, East Coast & U.K. Markets

Salvatore Zinno currently is Senior Vice President, Development, East Coast and U.K. markets before serving as Vice President, Development, East Coast markets. Mr. Zinno will have direct oversight over the 3.8 million square foot development pipeline in Boston, Cambridge and the U.K. He has worked for more than a decade with the city of Boston and surrounding communities on a variety of projects to develop new infrastructure to support the life science industry. Mr. Zinno joined BioMed in 2008 and has held various development and project management positions in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Salil Payappilly

Senior Vice President, Development

Salil Payappilly is Senior Vice President, Development, San Francisco market after serving as Vice President, Development, San Francisco market. Mr. Payappilly has direct oversight of the Company’s expanding 3.6 million square foot Bay Area development pipeline, led by the flagship Gateway of Pacific campus in South San Francisco. Mr. Payappilly joined BioMed in 2011 and has held development and leasing positions in various markets, including Boston, Cambridge, New York, Seattle and San Francisco. He holds an M.S. from Stanford University and an MBA from Yale University.
