BioMed Realty Announces Officer Promotions of Professionals with Extensive Life Science Real Estate Experience

BioMed Realty announced officer promotions of three team members: Johan Bostrom to Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance & Portfolio Insights, John Moshy to Senior Vice President, Development, and Matt Masterson to Vice President, Leasing.

SAN DIEGO – January 9, 2025 – BioMed Realty (the “Company”), a Blackstone portfolio company and the largest private operator of life science real estate, announced today officer promotions of three team members: Johan Bostrom to Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance & Portfolio Insights, John Moshy to Senior Vice President, Development, and Matt Masterson to Vice President, Leasing.

As we enter our third decade, these long tenured colleagues will continue to drive the Company’s mission of supporting our tenants’ innovation needs in the life science and technology industries.”
Below are the profiles of the newly promoted officers:

  • Johan Bostrom becomes Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance & Portfolio Insights, after serving as Vice President, Finance. He first joined the Company in 2010, supporting the Company’s growth in various finance roles through the past 14 years, while also maintaining a focus on developing those around him across the finance team. He will have direct oversight of BioMed’s growing corporate finance, forecasting, portfolio reporting, and market research functions. Mr. Bostrom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University and an MBA from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
  • John Moshy becomes Senior Vice President, Development, after serving as Vice President, Development, for the past five years. Since joining BioMed Realty in 2008, Mr. Moshy has led development projects across multiple teams in both San Diego and Seattle, ensuring tenants’ unique needs are met through the construction of the Company’s world-class lab, office, and amenity spaces. In this new position, he assumes a broader leadership role within the team fostering collaboration across multiple markets and development initiatives. Mr. Moshy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
  • Matt Masterson becomes Vice President, Leasing, after serving as Senior Director, Leasing. Mr. Masterson’s work has focused on providing high-quality, strategic spaces and reliable services to tenants in the San Diego market. In this new role, he will expand his leadership responsibilities for the leasing activities in the Company’s San Diego region. Prior to joining BioMed Realty in 2013, Mr. Masterson held roles at several real estate companies in San Diego. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, along with a Master of Science in Real Estate and MBA from the University of San Diego.
