POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, supports the company's acquisition and leasing efforts to acquire new properties and lease up vacant space for BioMed Realty’s portfolio.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • One year real estate experience; REIT experience a plus
  • BA/BS in finance, economics, marketing, accounting or related field required.
  • Experience in real estate financial analysis and modeling, as well as sales & marketing-related positions
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Argus, and proficient with Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Must be organized and task oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and adapt readily to changing priorities
  • Detail oriented and the ability to convey information orally and in written correspondence, reports and presentations, technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Self-initiator with the ability to problem solve independently.  Also requires the ability to maintain an approachable, friendly demeanor and work with competing priorities and demands


SPECIFIC DUTIES - include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsible for business development efforts in focused geographical areas including prospective companies that may lease existing vacancy and new acquisition opportunities in line with BioMed Realty current acquisition parameters;
  • Prepare marketing presentations for analysts, brokers, tenants.
  • Assist in analysis of lease comparables and sale comparables in each market.
  • Assist in the structuring, financial analysis, and presentation of potential lease and acquisition deal structures both internally to senior management and externally to brokers, tenants, and other 3rd parties;
  • May conduct field work, which will include investigating local real estate markets and inspecting competitive properties;
  • Provides tours as needed for prospective tenants and brokers and other 3rd parties;
  • Keeps track of current market activities and is able to consolidate large amounts of data into concise reports;
  • Assists in investor relations tours and market updates and studies as needed to bankers and research analysts;
  • Assist in the consistent and effective branding and positioning of the BioMed Realty brand name;
  • Additional duties include relative direct support as assigned by executive level management

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually low.

Requires minimal domestic travel.
